Save your money and buy one with a separate underwater housing- wish I had now. The initial instructions for charging the battery and setup and initializing of the camera do not work with a Mac. I had to call tech support to find out that you cannot charge the battery on the Mac; you must use the adapter [provided] and a wall outlet.

And in my experience salt water leaves a film on the lens so always wash in clean fresh water after any underwater activity. The on-board software glitches when I tried to load it onto my computer, but I haven’t really tried to fix it yet. Phone is now dead as disco and the return labels have already been printed. That’s too bad too, because I was very happy with the quality of the pictures and really liked the thought of shooting pictures under water. I went to Florida for a while and was using a Canon. It was ok but definitely not waterproof! The HD video is excellent. It’s as good as or better than my Panasonic HD camcorder puts out.

When I saw this camera in the store, I was very impressed. The salesman took the camera and banged it against a metal post, showing that it would not dent or scratch, or even better, break. I was hesitant about buying this camera but I don’t regret my choice. It is hard to get used to but after playing around with it I was able to figure it out. The first tech support person told me I do not need to initialize the camera, and that when connected with my mac it will automatically download photos to iPhoto. The camera should present a menu on the LCD screen, with one of the options being “Storage.”

There are three underwater settings. Close up, landscape, and action. I want to throw it in my purse and not be concerned. It does this job and far beyond, thankfully.

I do however with there was a view finder so taking pictures in the dark would be easier. This is my second stylus water proof camera.

This was my 6th Olympus camera. I have been a fan of the cameras ease and durability. Great price and I like the color choice I made. Highly recommend this camera for the adventurous.

Also, the pictures are great quality and crisp. I use it a lot on cars, and the detail is great.

As a standard around the house camera it worked fine. camera(s).
